Steve’s the first to admit he’s got a pretty complicated lifestyle. His work in Venture Capital takes him all around the world; he’s moved home 7 times in the last 16 years; and even when he’s not working splits his year between homes in the Channel Islands and the Caribbean.

Having used UK Postbox for over 7 years Steve’s in a great position to tell us why he started and how the service has helped him. He’s been kind enough to sit down and share his experience so we can in turn share it with you.

“Quite early on in my dislocated lifestyle, keeping up with post (both business and personal) and being able to locate important documents quickly and remotely, became a major issue. I tried various ways of ensuring important post didn’t go astray and got read – I asked everyone to send me things electronically, used post office redirect services and I had friends go around to whichever house I wasn’t at, to check the mail. I even tried employing a private PA!”

Despite being a successful businessman, husband and father of three, Steve was experiencing issues that many of our clients from all walks of life come up against. “How do you stay on top of bits of paper when you aren’t there to receive them?”. Steve goes on to tell us that whilst some of the measures he put in place worked some of the time, they didn’t work all the time and as a result he started missing deadlines for things like tax returns and parking tickets.

"I was dreading threatening letters"

“I ended up with threatening letters and a number of court summons for bills that hadn’t been paid, one of which was a parking ticket. Worst of all, was the complete feeling of dread (of the unknown) when a huge bundle of mail finally caught up with me!”

About 7 years ago, whilst on a long haul flight Steve got talking to a guy next to him, who in his own words was “waxing lyrical” about an organisation to which all your mail could be redirected for it to be opened, scanned and made available online.
