We’ve added a new option to our forwarding service that enables you to forward items to Royal Mail Parcel Lockers. At UK Postbox we believe in modern, flexible and secure solutions to give you complete control over your parcels. Users can now forward to over 1,500 lockers installed by Royal Mail across the UK.
About the Royal Mail Parcel Lockers
Launched in 2024 and gaining momentum throughout 2025, the Royal Mail Parcel Lockers were launched to meet growing demand. The rise and rise of eCommerce and the demand for convenient 24/7 mailing options has seen parcel lockers increase rapidly across the UK and Europe.
Significantly, Parcel lockers offer a more secure, contactless, and fraud-resistant delivery method for sellers who want to protect their business and reduce losses.
Available shipping options for lockers
As part of Royal Mail’s Local Collect availability, the UK Postbox shipping option for locker collection is Tracked only.
Royal Mail is continuously expanding its locker network, so we will keep users updated on further features in our platform.
Royal Mail has two types of locker with different maximum parcel sizes:
Grey lockers Width 34cm x Height 61cm x Depth 58cm
24/7 access: Most lockers are accessible around the clock, allowing you to collect or drop off parcels at any time that suits you, even outside regular post office hours.
No need to wait at home: You don’t have to be in for a delivery - parcels can be delivered to a secure locker and collected later.
Quick collection/drop-off: Using a locker is often faster than queueing in a post office. You just scan a code and retrieve or deposit your parcel.
Avoid redelivery delays: If you're not in, having a parcel delivered to a locker avoids the delay of redelivery or a trip to the delivery office.

How it works when collecting your item
When collecting your UK Postbox forwarded item from a Royal Mail Parcel Locker, you will need to input your PIN code or scan your QR code using the terminal.
Hints and tips when collecting your item:
Wait until delivery is confirmed - Don't go to open the locker until you've received delivery confirmation by Royal Mail that your item is there. If your item is delivered after you open the locker, you will be unable to reopen the locker to retrieve your parcel.
Lockers can be full! In the event that the locker you forward your item to is full, delivery will be re-attempted and you will be notified by Royal Mail when it will reattempt delivery and then you will be notified again when it has arrived.
Ensure you have courier contact details ready - The locker terminals don't provide any support options on-location, only a message saying you'll need to contact the courier. UK Postbox won't get a copy of your notifications from Royal Mail so please provide this to UK Postbox Customer Service if you have any issues when forwarding items.
